Convocation is a final goodbye to our seniors, the batch of 2023. Being a respectable junior, I wanted to bid my seniors a formal and a precise goodbye. I was much enthusiastic for the event as the event was held in an auditorium that was out of school premises and the dress code for the students, the teachers and the organising committee was Indian formal.
LO2:
As I stated in the introduction, the event was outside school premises, and I was a volunteer. My role was to help maintain the decorum of the event and help my seniors locating their seats and the collection of their cap and gowns. I was able to improve my communication skills as I had to manage the attendees of the event.
LO3:
Being part of the core committee for the event, we had to communicate with committee students about what each and every person’s role was, well in advance. The overall challenging part about the event was the huge number of attendees of the event and trying to make everyone’s experience at the event smoother. In order for that to happen, all students had to be on their feet at all time throughout the event which was communicated to everybody well in advance. All committee members executed their roles perfectly.
LO7:
I ensured ethical considerations were foremost. I upheld transparency, fairness, and respect for all attendees and made sure no one at the event recieved special treatment of any sort but only the service which was offered to every guest. By incorporating ethical principles, the convocation ceremony not only celebrated achievements of our seniors but also exemplified integrity and inclusivity within our organization.
In conclusion, The event was successful and a significant experience which will help me manage certain events in the future in a much more organised manner.
